On October 10-11, 2023, CLDP and interagency experts from the Federal Communications Commission, and NTIA, hosted a workshop in Tbilisi, Georgia for the Georgian Communications Commission, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and OpenNet counterparts on connectivity solutions in unserved and underserved areas. The USG interagency experts highlighted the role of federal government in facilitating broadband deployment. The workshop was an opportunity for Georgian counterparts to learn about best practices in the US on bridging the digital divide and is very timely as Georgia is in the process of passing a law on universal service that is expected to be implemented by 2025.
