From May 30 to 31, CLDP, in collaboration with ITA and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad provided franchise consultations to an Iraqi Private Sector delegation who attended the Annual International Franchise Expo (IFE) in New York. The IFE is an annual industry exposition of U.S. and global franchise brands that aim to attract prospective investors in new markets. It is one of the premier industry events that gathers internationally renowned franchise experts, brands, leaders, and executives, providing an opportunity for the delegation to attract franchise opportunities to Iraq. In preparation of the delegation’s participation in the IFE, CLDP and ITA hosted a two-day franchise workshop under the auspices of the Akerman Law Firm that provided essentials on understanding the legal and commercial considerations of the franchise negotiation process. Participants in the workshop gained the skills and tools needed to amplify their participation at the IFE and increase their probability of attracting U.S. franchises.
