Sri Lanka: Judicial Workshop on Protection of Intellectual Property Rights

From May 25-29, CLDP and USPTO led a pair of two-day IP workshops in Colombo and Jaffna for Sri Lanka High Court and District Court judges. Thirty Sri Lankan judges in Colombo and 30 judges in Jaffna were exposed to best practices in managing and adjudicating IP disputes in a fair, efficient, and predictable manner. The Honorable Susan Y. Illston and the Honorable William Orrick (both from Northern District of California) served as the primary experts speaking on patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, unfair competition, and alternative dispute resolution.
