Sri Lanka: University of Colombo Wins Moot Court Competition

University of Colombo Team

On June 27, the CLDP-sponsored team from the University of Colombo won the 2021 John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition, a simulated hearing under the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system. Besting 81 universities from around the world, the team also won the best written submission award and two best orator awards, resulting in scholarships from Georgetown Law and the World Trade Institute. This sponsorship is part of CLDP’s effort to train future trade lawyers to represent Sri Lanka at the WTO and in all trade law matters.
