CLDP, in coordination with the Department of State (DoS) and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, coordinated the first U.S. delegation to the Interamerican Network on Government Procurement’s (INGP) annual conference in Panama. The INGP is an official mechanism of the Organization of American States, and last year CLDP coordinated with DoS to formalize U.S. accession to the network. Over the last year, CLDP has collaborated with the network to share expertise on strengthening transparency, open competition, and sustainability in procurement processes, particularly in Peru and the Dominican Republic. CLDP supported the participation of a senior procurement executive from the General Services Administration, who discussed U.S. procurement best practices in digital transformation and supplier management. CLDP also moderated a panel on inclusive and sustainable procurement. The conference was attended by 450 procurement officials from 30 countries throughout the Western Hemisphere. The conference furthers CLDP’s programmatic objectives of sharing the latest innovative approaches from the U.S., and the region, to improve the levels of transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in the Dominican and Peruvian procurement systems.
