Telecommunications Dispute Resolution Consultation - Phase I

CLDP experts consulted with Egypt's National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in its efforts to create transparent and efficient dispute resolution procedures to handle disputes that will dramatically increase in the recently liberalized Egyptian telecom market.

Egypt - Egyptian Cybersecurity Delegation Makes a Consultative Visit

CLDP hosted a senior-level delegation of Egyptian officials who will be responsible for developing a Cybersecurity framework for Egypt's growing e-commerce sector to Washington, DC for a one week consultative visit. The Egyptian officials engaged in bilateral discussions with their counterparts from several U.S. federal agencies and representatives from private sector organizations that are involved in the U.S. national cybersecurity system.

Egypt - Consultative Visit on Telecommunications Competition Policy

Egyptian telecommunications regulators from the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority NTRA) met with their counterparts from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, DC for a week of consultations on the development of telecom competition guidelines in Egypt.

Judicial Consultative Tour for Judges from Oman and UAE

Omani and UAE judges engaged in a commercial law study tour in the US and work with US judges in order to identify necessary criteria for commercial law specialization.

Consultative Tour to US Law Schools

CLDP brought professors from partner institutions in Oman to the U.S. to participate in a consultative tour of American law schools on February 20 - March 4, 2005. During the visit, the participants were able to experience firsthand the teaching methods that are being used at prominent U.S. law schools.

Model Investment Law Regional Conference

CLDP held a three-day conference during which the model investment law drafting committee, organized by CLDP, presented the finalized model investment law drafted over two previous sessions to ECOWAS, OHADA and WAEMU officials and government officials from the region's nations.

Africa Law Institute 2nd Drafting Session

CLDP participated in a two-day meeting to finalize the constitutive and governing documents and a preliminary two-year agenda for the Africa Law Institute. The meeting also succeeded in determining a location for ALI and its launch.
