CLDP organized consultations in November 2005 in Washington, D.C. for a delegation of public and private sector experts and franchising stakeholders from Algeria. The public sector experts are the officials from Algeria's Ministry of Commerce who will be in charge of drafting Algeria's franchising law. The private sector experts are Algerian businesspersons and lawyers interested in making franchising a reality in Algeria. The delegation met with U.S. Government officials with the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Mission and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, as well as the World Bank, International Franchise Association, legal service providers for the franchise industry, and several international and national franchisers and franchisees.
