US Consultations on Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights for Armenia

CLDP hosted a delegation from Armauthor, the only collective copyright management organization of authors’ rights and related rights in Armenia, as well as representatives from the Intellectual Property Agency of Armenia and the Ministry of Culture of Armenia, for consultations in Washington, D.C. and New York City.

CLDP Sponsors Armenian and Georgian Technology Transfer Leaders to Attend AUTM Annual Meeting

CLDP sponsored the participation of three technology transfer specialists from Armenia and one technology transfer specialist from Georgia to attend the 2013 Association of Technology Managers (AUTM) Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas on February 27 – March 2, 2013.  The event gave the participants an opportunity to participate in interactive workshops designed for technology transfer managers and to network with seasoned technology transfer professionals to guide the progress of their newly established centers.

U.S. Consultations on Innovation and Technology Transfer for Armenia and Georgia July 7 – 21, 2012

CLDP hosted U.S. Consultations on Innovation and Technology transfer from July 7-July 21, 2012 in Washington, DC, Worcester, Massachusetts, and Stillwater, Oklahoma for Armenia and Georgia. The 19 participants from both countries included representatives from the leading academic institutions, NFSAT, National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Intellectual Property Rights Center of Armenia, the Georgian Technology Transfer Center (GTTC), National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, and Georgian business associations.

Armenia: Capacity Building in Innovation and Technology Transfer

On April 30-May 1, CLDP, in partnership with the National Foundation for Science and Advanced Technologies of Armenia (NFSAT), held a Capacity Building in Innovation and Technology Transfer Workshop, at the State Engineering University in Yerevan. Participants included specialists from Armenia’s main academic institutions, the IP Agency, the Ministry of Science and Education, the National Academy of Sciences and IP lawyers.

CLDP Celebrates 20 years!

Begun as a small joint venture between USAID and Commerce to help the Former Soviet Bloc countries of Eastern Europe transition to more market-oriented economies, CLDP has expanded to help meet the legal technical assistance needs of more than 50 countries in Eurasia, Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. On February 23rd, CLDP celebrated 20 years of technical assistance in commercial law.

Eurasia IP Customs Enforcement and Coordination Workshop

CLDP held a Eurasia Intellectual Property Customs Enforcement and Coordination Workshop in Tbilisi, Georgia on October 26 – 28, 2011. The 3-day program brought together customs officials from Armenia, Georgia and Turkey for interactive sessions and presentations on enforcement of IPR, counterfeit product identification, investigation of IP infringing goods, and methods of coordination among the various customs officials.

Technology Transfer: A Commerce Response to a Request from Armenia's Prime Minister

In June 2008, Armenia's Prime Minister requested technical assistance from a Commerce-led delegation that visited Armenia. The Prime Minister asked Commerce to provide capacity building in technology transfer. In response to this request, in June 2009, CLDP ran a workshop in Yerevan on Technology Transfer and Technology Licensing.
