Adela Perez-Franco

Attorney Advisor

Adela has a broad range of experience in transactional, litigation, and policy work in the humanitarian assistance, development, and public interest sectors. Prior to joining CLDP, Adela worked as a Legal Consultant at the United Nations World Food Programme, specifically in the Legal Office’s Contractual and Constitutional Law Branch. She worked on agreements with public sector entities, such as governments, NGOs, and other UN agencies, to deliver lifesaving food aid and implement technical assistance and capacity strengthening initiatives. She also advised on a variety of issues, including privileges and immunities and compliance with internal regulations and rules. Previous to her time with the UN, Adela worked in legal aid. As a staff attorney in the Housing Unit at Northeast Legal Aid, she represented and advocated on behalf of low-income and elderly tenants facing evictions to maintain housing stability during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Adela received her Juris Doctor degree from Boston University, where she participated in the International Human Rights Clinic. She is licensed to practice law in New York and Massachusetts. Adela received her Bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Seton Hall University. In 2016-2017, she was a Fulbright Scholar in Spain. 

Adela is fluent in Spanish and speaks some Italian.
