International Program Specialist Boone Bishop is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP). Ms. Bishop primarily works on CLDP’s Afghanistan portfolio. Before joining the CLDP team, Ms. Bishop spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa. During her time, she focused on gender and development and youth empowerment by developing and implementing projects within her community. Through her experience working closely with Gambian counterparts and living within her community, Ms. Bishop developed a deep appreciation and understanding of The Gambia, its people, values and cultural norms. Prior to Peace Corps, Ms. Bishop worked as a teacher in a primary school in Hong Kong. Ms. Bishop received her B.A. in Global and International Studies with a minor in Portuguese from University of California, Santa Barbara where she studied abroad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She speaks Portuguese and Pulaar (or Fula, West Africa).
