Kale Bryan Manzo

Kale Bryan is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Since 2019, Mr. Bryan has supported the implementation of CLDP projects that promote cross-border trade facilitation, insolvency reform, government accountability, and small business growth in Latin America.

Before joining CLDP, Mr. Bryan helped advance economic development initiatives with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), other refugee organizations, and the U.S. Peace Corps. On the Economic Empowerment Team of the IRC in Seattle, WA, he created monitoring and evaluation tools for capacity-building trainings to assist in determining the efficacy of financial literacy programs for recently relocated refugees. Mr. Bryan has also supported asylee and refugee service centers managed by local community associations in France and by U.S. agencies in California. During his two years of service in Senegal with the U.S. Peace Corps, Mr. Bryan worked as a Business Advisor, coordinating with local youth associations, government officials, and NGOs to organize trainings in youth entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and community savings methods. He also co-directed a variety of programs to improve health education, household economic security, and academic empowerment for young women.

Mr. Bryan is completing a Masters of Global Governance & Public Policy at American University in Washington, D.C., and holds a B.A. in Economics and French as well as a minor in Art History from the University of Washington, Seattle. He has traveled extensively throughout West Africa and Latin America and he speaks French, Spanish, and Pulaar (or, Fula).
