International Program Specialist Somer Stapleton is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), where she will be working on the Latin America and Caribbean team. Before joining CLDP, Ms. Stapleton worked on international anti-corruption, parliamentary strengthening, and democratic governance programs at the National Democratic Institute in Washington, DC. She also completed a Boren Fellowship for Arabic Language in Amman, Jordan and studied at the French Institute of Cairo in Egypt. Prior to her Fellowship, she led international education programs in Puerto Rico and France and volunteered at a community center in Medellín, Colombia. Ms. Stapleton graduated summa cum laude from American University with a Master’s in International Peace and Conflict Resolution and holds a degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Ms. Stapleton is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of French and Arabic.
