Thomas 'Skip' Mark

Attorney Advisor-International

Thomas ‘Skip’ Mark is an Attorney Advisor-International with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he works on programs in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Prior to joining CLDP, Mr. Mark worked as a Managing Attorney at the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, training and mentoring attorneys involved in pro bono cases and supervising legal clinics to address emerging needs. He was awarded the 2016 Legal Services Award from the Washington Council of Lawyers for expanding access to justice in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Skip began his legal career in the U.S. Department of Justice Attorney General’s Honors Program, where he clerked for the Chief Administrative Law Judge at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Mr. Mark received his law degree from Washington University School of Law, where he graduated with honors and was a David Becker Public Service Fellow. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from the University of Delaware and is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland. Skip served in the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan and also worked for an international non-profit organization in Kyrgyzstan.
