On April 6-13,2017, CLDP sponsored three Middle East law schools: Iraqyia College of Law of Iraq, Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences of Tunis, and University of Jordan to participate in the 24th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot) in Vienna, Austria.  The Vis Moot is an educational program, initiated by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), aimed at building international synergies in the resolution of commercial disputes. CLDP, in collaboration with the Center for International Legal Education (CILE) of the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) and other international resource partners have been training and mentoring the teams for the past year, in an effort to develop the capacity of arbitration expertise in the respective countries through participation in this premier international moot.  The teams were provided additional training via 2-day of Pitt Consortium arguments rounds prior competing with over 300 law schools from over 70 countries.
