On June 26-27, in Manama, CLDP in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Finance (BIBF) and the Bahrain Ministry of Justice, conducted insolvency law training for local bankers and business people.  CLDP provided one-day training sessions specifically designed for each group regarding their respective role in potential bankruptcy proceedings.  Presenters included local lawyers as well as international insolvency law experts who provided an overview of the new Bahrain Insolvency Law and insights on how the law can be used to restructure distressed companies. Presenters also used case studies to illustrate potential choices and outcomes of enlisting insolvency law.  This program is an extension of CLDP’s efforts to support the development of a modern insolvency legal regime in Bahrain including assisting with the drafting of the new law and training lawyers, business people, and judges on its effective implementation.
