On December 7-15, CLDP conducted U.S. Tech Transfer Consultations in Washington, DC, Ithaca, NY, and Ann Arbor, MI. CLDP brought delegates from the Sri Lankan Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission, and select universities to learn more about the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the United States.
  
The group first met with USPTO experts to learn more about U.S intellectual property law (patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets) and then the delegates met with technology transfer and commercialization stakeholders at Cornell University and the University of Michigan. Delegates also participated in a licensing negotiation simulation and delivered three-minute “pitches” on technologies with potential at their universities.

This program will continue to help technology transfer stakeholders commercialize university-based research and create new products, services, companies, jobs, and increased tax based in Sri Lanka.
