CLDP held a four (4) day conference for representatives from the Angolan Ministry of Justice and the private sector to discuss the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practices that may be used in Africa. The conference was led by a team of five topical experts and two CLDP attorneys. The team of experts, including a legal expert in comparative arbitration practices and experts in alternative dispute resolution practices (both from the civil and common law tradition countries), addressed the Angolan audience on how the different ADR practices can compliment the judicary's work. The purpose of the conference was to expand the judiciary's capacity to efficiently and expeditiously dispose of legal disputes by maximizing the use of all viable and legally recognized methods.
