On September 25-27, CLDP hosted its third Central Asia Public Private Partnership Information Exchange Workshop in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic with participants from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to help foster interregional dialogue and cooperation on PPPs. PPPs are a crucial form of financing to develop critical infrastructure projects to help bridge the infrastructure gap.

The three-day program provided an overview of the state of PPPs throughout Central Asia, and discussed the role and governance of PPP units, small-scale PPPs, tendering versus negotiated contract awards, unsolicited proposals, PPP financing, market sounding, and the PPP and Infrastructure Evaluation and Rating System (#PIERS) evaluation methodology. Participants also attended the Second International PPP conference organized by the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Kyrgyz Republic on September 28.
