From November 25-29, 2019, CLDP supported participation by government officials and civil society representatives from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, and Pakistan at the 14th Annual U.N. Internet Governance Forum (IGF), held in Berlin, Germany. CLDP supported 20 representatives from the five countries to speak at workshops and plenary sessions on a variety of issues including connectivity, infrastructure development, access, privacy, data, cybersecurity, and media. CLDP organized its own separate one-day program on the margins of the IGF and facilitated discussion among the participants on their varying approaches to connectivity, encouraging investment and engagement by the public. During that time, CLDP also set up meetings with U.S. companies. including with Amazon and Microsoft.  The IGF brought together about 2,400 stakeholders and experts from governments, industry, NGOs, academia, and the private sector.
