CLDP, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), held a virtual arbitration certification training for participants from Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. CIArb is the world’s leading qualifications and professional body for dispute avoidance and dispute management. This course is part of the Accelerated Route to Member (ARM) program, which is designed for practitioners with a fair knowledge legal concepts and introduces them to the principles of international commercial arbitration practice. The program provides unrivaled training in international arbitration, both for those who wish to appear as counsel in international arbitration proceedings and for those who wish to start to build a foundation for eventual appointment as an international arbitrator. Upon the completion of this training, the participants are ready to qualify for the level of “Member” of the CIArb. The program furthers CLDP’s goal of improving the practice of international commercial arbitration and developing the capacity alternative dispute resolution mechanisms abroad.
