On September 20-21, CLDP collaborated with the Georgian Bar Association (GBA) to lead a workshop that trains attorneys on handling matters that involve international sales contracts.  This capacity building program was designed to create a critical mass of Georgian legal professionals that understand the provisions of the United Nations Convention on Contracts of the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and can effectively advise and represent clients in this area of commercial law.  On September 22-23, CLDP coordinated with the High School of Justice of Georgia (HSOJ) to facilitate a workshop for judges on adjudication of cases involving international sales contracts.  The program was designed to improve the capacity of judges to adjudicate international commercial disputes, resulting in a business environment that is more conducive to trade and investment in Georgia.  Both programs  focused on common terms and frequent issues in adjudication of matters related to the international sale of goods.  Topics included delivery and payment, jurisdiction, international standards, and understanding the provisions of the CISG.
