On March 30-31, CLDP led a training on legislative drafting at the Bahrain National Assembly for members (MPs), staff and legal advisors of the Council of Representatives. During the March 30 training for 12 MPs and 10 of their legal staff, CLDP expert-advisors discussed U.S. legislative drafting processes and caucus management. On March 31, the CLDP experts trained 17 legal advisors and consultants assigned to each of the Council of Representatives committees on legislative legal research and drafting skills, including a case exercise on drafting legislation on a particular topic. U.S. Embassy Manama noted that the training was the most widely attended US-led workshop for parliament members ever held. This legislative drafting workshop is part of a multi-phase project on building the capacity of members of parliament and their legal staff.  (Yazd x9030, Al-Sarraf x9026)
