On January 27 and 28, 2008 CLDP and the Oman Ministry of Justice organized a regional conference on Commercial Law and Company Regulation in Muscat, Oman. Local and international experts presented legal topics relevant to economic development in the region and indicative of the type of legal issues that judges will adjudicate as economies in the region develop. Participant judges hailed from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen to learn from local and international experts regarding commercial law topics of increasing relevance to economies in the region. Specific program topics included: Company Law Best Practices, Corporate Governance Regulation, Secured Lending Law and Practices, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Practices, Contract Enforcement through Arbitration and International Trends in Commercial Mediation.
