CLDP co-sponsored 11 students and faculty from the American University of Kosovo and the University of Pristina to participate in the Fourth Central European Vis Pre-Moot and Conference on International Commercial Law and Arbitration, in Budapest, Hungary. The event was organized by Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Law and included the participation of over 40 universities from around the world. Each participating university had four pleadings – two as claimant and two as respondent. Additionally, the competition gave Kosovar students the chance to compete with several universities which are usually finalists in the Willem C. Vis Moot competition in Vienna. The students had the opportunity to listen to a wide variety of questions and arguments from peers around the world.

This program aims to promote international commercial law and arbitration in Kosovo, strengthen the international commercial law and arbitration curricula in public institutions, increase opportunities for interactive and practical experiences for law school students in Kosovo, and create linkages between Kosovo students, faculty, judges, arbitrators and practitioners. Additionally, the event has helped to prepare the two Kosovo teams for the 21st Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. The Vis Moot is the pre-eminent moot on commercial law and arbitration with law school teams from over 290 universities and 67 countries taking part in the written and oral advocacy competition in 2013.
