On April 2-9, CLDP sponsored Afghan law students from Dunia University and Sri Lankan law students from the Sri Lanka Law College to participate in the ELSA WTO Regional Trade Law Moot (Trade Law Moot) in Bangkok, Thailand. Before the competition, CLDP held a two-day preparation workshop, focusing on oral advocacy and analytical thinking.  On April 5-9, the teams participated in the competition rounds.  The Trade Law Moot Competition was preceded by 8 months of preparation by the 2 teams, submission of 2 memoranda of law, many skype and in-person training workshops, and various practice competitions. The program focused on developing analytical, oral and written advocacy skills, and international trade law skills for future Afghan and Sri Lankan lawyers. Building the capacity of legal professionals in commercial and trade law will improve economic opportunities in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
