On September 13-14, CLDP conducted the workshop AEO in the Republic of Moldova: Best Practices and Experience for the Georgia Revenue Service to assist the Georgia Revenue Service (GRS) in the development of Georgia’s Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program. CLDP convened delegations from GRS and the Moldova Customs Service (MCS), along with two customs experts from the EU, in Chisinau, Moldova for training sessions covering the criteria and conditions for granting AEO status, IT and data management requirements for an effective AEO program, and the Mutual Recognition Agreement on AEOs recently enacted by the EU and Moldova. The program also included a study visit to a Moldovan company holding AEO status, allowing program participants to observe and hear directly from the private sector the benefits of an effective AEO regime.
