CLDP and USTR, in conjunction with the Gulf Standards Organization (GSO) organized a two-day workshop to promote greater understanding and cooperation between the U.S. and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Standards and Regulations, provide regulators with a better understanding of the relevant standards and conformity assessment processes in the U.S. and the GCC, and provide an opportunity to address U.S. private sector concerns with the standards and conformity assessment processes in the GCC. Participants included attorneys; civil servants; authorities for trade, regulations and standards; and relevant private sector stakeholders from throughout the GCC, as well as USG regulatory authorities.
