On September 15 and 16, 2021, CLDP, in coordination with the U.S. Embassy in Delhi, held a seminar for the Government of India to discuss the security of 5G mobile networks, featuring presentations from both U.S. and Indian officials. Speakers from the United States government included those from the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Communications Commission, and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.  The seminar is intended to provide an information exchange with India on comparative approaches to protecting 5G mobile networks against untrusted vendors and other security threats and alternatives to promote vendor diversity. This event is one of a number of bilateral engagements in South Asia on telecommunications and information issues CLDP is conducting under the Digital Connectivity and Cybersecurity Partnership, a global U.S. initiative to advance connectivity and digital trade, improve policy and regulatory environments for ICT sector growth, and enhance cyber security.
