In December 2006, CLDP in coordination with the Yemen Ministry of Justice presented a two-day workshop in Sana'a, Yemen focusing on contract law standards. The event was designed to enhance Yemen commercial court judges' understanding of general principles of contract law and raise their acceptance of the importance of the enforcement of contracts as a component of Yemen?s economic growth. Participants in this workshop reviewed case studies from local and international law experts and engaged in a dialog among colleagues regarding the development and application of contract law standards as well as the importance of contract enforcement in economic growth. Discussion topics included: Economic Importance of Commercial Law Adjudication; Formation and Terms of Contracts; Breach of Contract; and Contract Damages.
