On December 3-6, at the behest of the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, CLDP conducted assessments with stakeholders on issues arising in legal and regulatory reform efforts in the telecom, renewable energy and judicial sectors.  CLDP met with telecom regulators, distributors and operators to discuss the potential privatization of Kosovo Telecom, a state owned entity, and how to streamline the telecom industry in accordance with best international practices.  With respect to renewable energy, CLDP met with stakeholders to assess the legal and regulatory framework to promote renewable energy auctions for solar, wind, hydro and bio mass energy.  CLDP also met with the head of the commercial and administrative courts to discuss specific areas of technical assistance, including case management, court automation and bid dispute protests. CLDP will draft a new workplan in these industry sectors to promote trade and investment in Kosovo for implementation in early 2020.
