In response to a request from the Libyan Government, CLDP planned and implemented the second seminar of a four-phase program intended to build the judiciary's capacity to adjudicate fairly and consistently international trade/investment disputes and enforce arbitral awards. With support from AmEmbassy Tripoli, a CLDP attorney and U.S. federal judge Delissa Ridgway traveled to Libya to conduct a four-day training workshop at the Higher Judicial Institute introducing basic concepts of international contract law (choice of forum, choice of law, incoterms, and sanctity of international contracts) and international arbitration, focusing on the NY Convention. CLDP also met with the General People's Committee (GPC) on Justice, the GPC of Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation, and private companies while in Libya.
