On May 27, CLDP, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), held a launching workshop for the Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS). MAPS is an international standard assessment designed to evaluate a country’s public procurement system. The MAPS assessment will be conducted over the course of the next year with the aim of identifying opportunities and challenges to public procurement in the Maldives. The assessment will provide guidance for improving the current procurement framework to make it more responsive to the needs of the country. CLDP’s programming with the Maldives seeks to encourage infrastructure development and foster opportunities for foreign direct investment.
