On October 21, 2024, CLDP participated in the U.S.-Montenegro Senior Economic Dialogue in Washington, DC.  During the meeting, Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jose W. Fernandez and Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Nik Gjeloshaj signed a Memorandum on Economic Cooperation that aims to strengthen collaboration between the United States and Montenegro, expand bilateral trade and investment, and support regional economic initiatives.  The dialogue highlighted current and potential areas for cooperation between the countries, including CLDP technical assistance projects on investment screening, commercial court reform, and trade facilitation.  The Montenegrin delegates expressed appreciation for CLDP’s investment screening project, which has led to progress in developing a mechanism to protect Montenegro's national security while maintaining a welcoming climate for foreign direct investment.
