On Nov. 28 – Nov. 29, in Rabat, Morocco, CLDP, in partnership with the General Treasury of Morocco, organized a two-day workshop on ethical practices and competition in public procurement for participants from a wide range of government agencies involved in public procurement. Experts from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the General Services Administration, and U.S. Department of Justice presented on the U.S. legal framework for combatting corrupt practices in public procurement, the role of technology in promoting ethical practices, potential conflicts of interest, and big data review in antitrust investigations.

On Nov. 30 – Dec. 1, in Rabat, Morocco, CLDP, in partnership with the Moroccan Public Prosecutor’s Office, organized a two-day workshop on combatting anti-competitive practices in public procurement with participants from the Moroccan Ministry of Justice, including prosecutors, magistrates and judges. Experts from the U.S. Department of Justice presented on a wide range of topics, including preventing and detecting cartels in public procurement, techniques for evidence gathering, and the criminal penalties for cartel activities. Representatives from the Moroccan Public Prosecutor’s Office presented on strategies in enforcing competition laws.
