On July 22-23, CLDP, in cooperation with USAID/Peru, supported the Supervisory Body for State Contracting’s (OSCE) two-day training and evaluation of future procurement professors. CLDP, with its intermittent expert John Meeuwissen, a former professor at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), evaluated the teaching skills and procurement knowledge of 18 candidates who had been selected by OSCE to train Peru’s public procurement workforce. During the session, CLDP provided feedback and recommendations to build their capacity as trainers to lead more interactive, productive, and effective classes. As Peru seeks to professionalize its procurement workforce, it has requested international expertise in designing and implementing training and certification programs, with a focus on building the capacity of its procurement professors. This two-day evaluation and training is part of CLDP’s broader effort to support Peru’s professionalization efforts.
