On January 13, 2022, CLDP’s Sri Lanka team met with the newly arrived Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States of America, Mahinda Samarasinghe, the Deputy Chief of Mission, Rohana Ambagolla, and the Commercial Minister, Charitha Yattogoda. CLDP highlighted its ongoing work to support Sri Lanka’s economic growth through creating an efficient, transparent, and reliable commercial and legal environment for businesses in Sri Lanka and supporting Sri Lanka’s ability to promote its exports and attract investment. Ambassador Samarasinghe expressed his desire for continued economic cooperation between the Sri Lanka and the United States. The group also affirmed their desire to continue to work closely towards concrete outcomes in the trade, investment, and commercial spheres.
