hrough a series of virtual and in-person workshops, CLDP rolled out a tool kit aiming to equip global artisan enterprises with essential information to market their goods effectively to international buyers. The toolkit includes 1) a written manual outlining the key components of a successful export market plan, including checklists and available resources, 2) a series of presentations addressing the primary topics in export, 3) a series of worksheets and exercises that artisan enterprises must complete in order to determine their export capacity, 4) a series of 10 taped lectures addressing each export standard. In Tunisia, the virtual release began in early September with on the ground exercises completed on October 17 in Tunis and October 19 in Tabarka with the participation of 100 attendees. Throughout this exercise, CLDP coordinated closely with the Ministry of Tourism and the National Office of Artisans as well as of FHI 360 and Post’s MEPI coordinator to include 15 Collaborative Action for Handicraft Exports (ACEA) artisans. Both workshops were facilitated by Karen Gibbs of ByHand Consulting, a CLDP expert with 30 years of experience working with companies on export readiness.
