From November 4-6, CLDP and experts from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission conducted a workshop and round table discussions on commodities market regulation for the Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CPCP) and the Uzbek Commodity Exchange (UzEx) in Tashkent. Focusing on procedure, guardrails, enforcement, and benefits of forward and futures trading, this program is part of CLDP’s wider effort to provide technical assistance in implementing futures trading, attracting foreign investment, and facilitating increased international trade in Uzbekistan.
