CLDP will be hosting two workshops in Nairobi, Kenya from 29-31 January 2025. 

The first will be on policies and regulatory frameworks for geothermal, carbon capture, and geological storage. Kenya is developing a regulatory framework for utilizing geothermal energy to capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and inject into nearby underground basalt formations, where it would mineralize and be permanently stored. During the workshop, participants are expected to share best practices to support stakeholders involved in this burgeoning industry. 

The second workshop will be on models, risk management and financial structuring in public-private partnerships. This work is part of an ongoing series to prepare the Government of Kenya's Inter-agency for CP3P certification, the world’s leading PPP certification examination program. 

These programs are being conducted through collaboration with the USAID's Power Africa Initiative.
