Aleena Nasir is an Attorney Advisor at the U.S Department of Commerce, Office of the General Counsel’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), where she works on programs throughout Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Pakistan.

Prior to joining CLDP, Ms. Nasir was an associate in the litigation group of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP where she represented individual and corporate clients in complex commercial litigations and government investigations before the SEC, DOJ, and FCC. Ms. Nasir also maintained an active pro bono practice in which she represented clients in immigration proceedings as well as incarcerated clients in compassionate release motions.

Ms. Nasir received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, where she participated in the International Human Rights Law Clinic and served as an editor for the George Washington International Law Review. Ms. Nasir received her B.A. in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University. She is fluent in Urdu and proficient in French, and is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C.
