Priya G. Prasad is a Senior Counsel with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Prasad leads a team of legal development professionals’ working bilaterally in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Pakistan, and multilaterally across the region. She previously served as an attorney for the Energy & Minerals team at CLDP.

Prior to joining CLDP, Ms. Prasad was an attorney for a global energy company, where she worked on intellectual property, environmental, corporate, and public affairs/government relations matters. 

Ms. Prasad received her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, MBA from Columbia Business School, and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. Prior to law school, she worked as an engineer. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
