On March 6-7, CLDP conducted a basics of business law workshop in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan.  The workshop, delivered by a panel of U.S. business lawyers, addressed several areas of interest to small businesses, including establishing a business, commercial contracting, financing a business, and closing or saving a business. Participants consisted of business representatives, judges, law students, and academics from Balkh Province. Knowledge of sound contract practices will facilitate job growth and improve the business climate for Afghanistan's private sector.
