On May 20-22, CLDP, in cooperation with the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and the Gulf Standards Organization organized a regional conference on standards development and regulatory best practices in Casablanca, Morocco. The conference supports efforts of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries to modernize standards through transparent and participatory regulatory processes. The conference shed light on transparent methods for product and service standards development, regulatory impact assessments, and included a discussion of energy efficiency in appliances, green building, and electrical devices, including Information and Communications Technology (ICT) equipment.
