CLDP along with a team of legal experts, visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for Insolvency Law Consultations. These advisors met with lawyers from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat to devise a new Insolvency Law regime for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all GCC countries. In particular, CLDP encouraged the GCC countries to decriminalize Insolvency and create specialized bankruptcy courts, providing safeguards for entrepreneurs and US companies operating in the region. As the GCC countries strive to develop knowledge-based economies, a new Insolvency Law regime will encourage entrepreneurs to take risks and allow US companies operating in the region to do business more freely. This Insolvency Law project in the GCC countries will improve the environment for doing business in the region.
