CLDP sponsored the travel of a team from the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law and the University of Zenica Faculty of Law to participate in the 22nd Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. The annual Vis Moot is the pre-eminent international moot on commercial law and arbitration. In 2014, teams from 290 universities and 64 countries took part in the written and oral advocacy competition. CLDP started its inaugural Vis Moot program in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2014 and held written memoranda and oral advocacy trainings in October 2014 and February 2015. With the assistance of student advisors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and BiH’s Association ARBITRI, CLDP helped prepare the student teams to compete in this rigorous and prestigious competition.

The two teams took part in a two day Vis Pre-Moot organized by the University of Pittsburgh and then participated in the week-long Vis Moot competition. This program improved the knowledge of BiH law students and university faculty of international commercial law and arbitration and will help develop institutionalized Vis Moot programs in universities throughout BiH.
