CLDP in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the US Embassy Kyiv, supported the travel of the Government of Ukraine (GOU) delegation to the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) Committee Meeting that took place on February 11, 2015 at WTO Secretariat, Geneva. The GOU delegation consisted of three Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine officials and attended the GPA Committee meeting, participated in bilateral negotiations, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) GPA Assistance workshop on February 9th to 13th, 2015. The commitment to join the Agreement on Government Procurement was undertaken by Ukraine when it joined the World Trade Organization (WTO). Having obtained observer status in the WTO GPA Committee in February 2009, Ukraine is now in the process of negotiating its accession to GPA. In order to accomplish the procedural requirements, and carry out the negotiations to join GPA, it is incumbent upon the Ukrainian Government to participate in the GPA Committee Meeting to discuss Ukraine’s Revised Accession Offer and to provide answers to questions posed by GPA members, including the United States. The delegation of Ukraine discussed the concerns about the thresholds, posed by the GPA Committee members, the general notes and some other aspects of the Offer.
