In cooperation with the Association of Law Firms of Georgia (ALFG) and the Georgian Bar Association (GBA), CLDP held a Workshop on Insolvency Law in Tbilisi, Georgia for approximately 45 Georgian legal professionals. This program builds upon CLDP’s previous legal trainings in Georgia aimed at strengthening the Georgian legal community’s competency in international commercial law, international sales contracts, and arbitration. Interactive sessions, led by US and European attorneys who specialize in the field of bankruptcy and insolvency, addressed the participants’ capacity to implement insolvency legislation through case studies and illustrative examples from real practice.  

This workshop followed CLDP’s May 2013 program, which focused on international sales contracts, complex international business transactions, arbitration, and an examination of key international commercial instruments, and the February 2014 program, which focused on issues in international commercial transactions. This ongoing capacity building program will create a critical mass of Georgian legal professionals who can fairly, efficiently, and effectively deal with international business transactions and competently represent companies in international commercial disputes.
