CLDP organized two weeks of seminar and industry consultations for senior officials from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Ministry of Information Technology and Secretary Cabinet Division of Pakistan reviewing pending issues in telecommunications, the Internet, e-commerce, and IT training. The first week was in Seattle where the University of Washington’s School of Law hosted the delegates and arranged morning meetings with prominent guests such as the Director of Technology Law and Policy Clinic, the State of Washington Chief Privacy Officer and the Policy Director of Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission among other others. In the afternoons, the delegates met with private industry leaders at the Microsoft Campus, T-Mobile Headquarters and Boeing manufacturing plant. 

The second week, CLDP organized consultations with key U.S. government organizations in Washington, DC, including meetings at the Federal Communications Commission as well as a tour of the spectrum facility. The delegates also met with the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization at the American University Washington School of Law. This program was part of CLDP’s continuing training and capacity-building assistance to the Government of Pakistan.
