On January 24-25, CLDP held a workshop in Kathmandu for officials from the Ministry of Energy, Nepal Investment Board, Office of the Millennium Challenge, Nepal Electricity Authority and the Ministry of Finance and other energy-related agencies on currency risk and volatility in the cross-border power trading context. The workshop focused on currency risk and volatility as it affects power purchase agreements and solutions for mitigating currency risk and attracting foreign investment. The workshop is part of the Department of State's Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor Initiative aimed at increasing cross-border investment in energy and power trading in South Asia.
