On March 19-20, 2018, CLDP, in cooperation with the State Procurement Agency of Georgia (SPA) and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia (MOESD), conducted a two-day workshop on public-private partnerships (PPPs) in Tbilisi, Georgia.  The workshop brought together participants from several line ministries, national agencies, and regional city halls.  Two experts joined the program, sharing public and private sector perspectives on the opportunities and challenges presented by PPPs in Georgia.  

The workshop provided government administrators with an introduction to PPP concepts, focusing on the technical skills and institutional structures necessary to successfully identify, negotiate, implement, and manage PPPs.  Over the course of the workshop, the experts covered a wide range of challenging topics, including the process of correctly identifying and selecting projects for which PPPs would be viable; structuring contracts to ensure appropriate pricing and transfer of risks; and the institutional frameworks necessary to properly monitor and manage projects.
